1. 接受;赞同
    Acceptance of an offer or a proposal is the act of saying yes to it or agreeing to it.

    e.g. The Party is being degraded by its acceptance of secret donations...

    e.g. I sent them more than 6,000 cartoons before I had my one and only acceptance by them...

2. 相信；承认
    If there is acceptance of an idea, most people believe or agree that it is true.

    e.g. ...a theory that is steadily gaining acceptance...

    e.g. There was a general acceptance that the defence budget would shrink.
           人们普遍相信国防预算将会缩减。

3. 忍受;容忍;承受
    Your acceptance of a situation, especially an unpleasant or difficult one, is an attitude or feeling that you cannot change it and that you must get used to it.

    e.g. Popular acceptance of authority had been an early aim of the Nationalists.
           国家主义者的一个早期目标是推动民众对权威的接受。
    e.g. ...his calm acceptance of whatever comes his way.
           他遇事泰然处之的态度

4. （对新产品的）接受，认可
    If there is acceptance of a new product, people start to like it and get used to it.

    e.g. Car manufacturers are already producing small numbers of electric vehicles to test customer acceptance...
           汽车制造商们已经开始生产少量的电动车辆以测试顾客的接受程度。
    e.g. Avant-garde music to this day has not found general public acceptance.
           先锋音乐时至今日都没有得到大众的广泛认可。

5. 接纳;欢迎
    Acceptance of someone into a group means beginning to think of them as part of the group and to act in a friendly way towards them.

    e.g. ...an effort to ensure that the disabled achieve real acceptance.
