1. 修理;修补
    If you repair something that has been damaged or is not working properly, you mend it.

    e.g. Goldsmith has repaired the roof to ensure the house is wind-proof...

    e.g. The cost of repairing earthquake damage could be more than seven-thousand-million dollars...
           弥补地震造成的损失需要超过70亿美元。

2. 补救，挽救(关系或声誉)
    If you repair a relationship or someone's reputation after it has been damaged, you do something to improve it.

    e.g. The government continued to try to repair the damage caused by the minister's interview...
           政府不断努力弥补因该部长接受采访带来的不良影响。
    e.g. The first and most important thing was to repair my relationship with my father.
           最首要和最重要的是挽救我和父亲的关系。

3. 修理;修补;补救
    A repair is something that you do to mend a machine, building, piece of clothing, or other thing that has been damaged or is not working properly.

    e.g. Many women know how to carry out repairs on their cars...
           许多妇女懂得怎样修自己的车。
    e.g. Many of the buildings are in need of repair...
           许多建筑需要整修。

4. 到…去;前去
    If someone repairs to a particular place, they go there.

    e.g. We then repaired to the pavilion for lunch.
           然后我们就去凉亭吃午饭了。

5. (建筑等)维修良好/糟糕，状况良好/ 糟糕
    If something such as a building is in good repair, it is in good condition. If it is in bad repair, it is in bad condition.

    e.g. The monks of Ettal keep the abbey in good repair...
           埃塔尔的修道士把修道院维护得很好。
    e.g. The road was in bad repair in parts.
           公路的部分路段路况很差。
