    A gesture is a movement that you make with a part of your body, especially your hands, to express emotion or information.

    e.g. Sarah made a menacing gesture with her fist...

    e.g. He throws his hands open in a gesture which clearly indicates his relief.

2. （表明态度或意图的）姿态，表示
    A gesture is something that you say or do in order to express your attitude or intentions, often something that you know will not have much effect.

    e.g. He questioned the government's commitment to peace and called on it to make a gesture of good will...
           他对政府致力和平的承诺提出质疑，并呼吁政府做出友好的表示。
    e.g. There's not greater gesture of love than having someone's name tattooed on your body...
           没有比将某人姓名文到身上更绝妙的示爱方式了。

3. 打手势；用手势表示；用动作示意
    If you gesture, you use movements of your hands or head in order to tell someone something or draw their attention to something.

    e.g. I gestured towards the boathouse, and he looked inside...
           我朝船库方向示意，他便往里面瞧了瞧。
    e.g. He gestures, gesticulates, and moves with the grace of a dancer.
           他举手投足之间流露出舞者的优雅。
