1. 爬;爬行;匍匐前进
    When you crawl, you move forward on your hands and knees.

    e.g. Don't worry if your baby seems a little reluctant to crawl or walk...
           如果你的宝宝不爱爬也不爱走，不要担心。
    e.g. I began to crawl on my hands and knees towards the door...
           我开始手脚并用朝门口爬去。

2. (昆虫)爬行
    When an insect crawls somewhere, it moves there quite slowly.

    e.g. I watched the moth crawl up the outside of the lampshade.
           我看着飞蛾爬到灯罩外面。

3. 缓慢行进;艰难前进
    If someone or something crawls somewhere, they move or progress slowly or with great difficulty.

    e.g. I crawled out of bed at nine-thirty...
           我9点半才勉强从床上爬起来。
    e.g. They had not foreseen the higher inflation in France when most of Western Europe was crawling out of recession...
           当西欧的大多数国家正从经济衰退中缓慢复苏时，他们并没有预见到法国的通货膨胀率会升高。

4. 挤满，爬满(人或动物)
    If you say that a place is crawling with people or animals, you are emphasizing that it is full of them.

    e.g. This place is crawling with police.
           这个地方全是警察。
    e.g. ...rock-hard earth littered with rubbish and crawling with vermin.
           丢满垃圾、爬满虫子的坚硬土地

5. 爬泳;自由泳
    The crawl is a kind of swimming stroke which you do lying on your front, swinging one arm over your head, and then the other arm.

6. 使震惊;使生厌
    If something makes your skin crawl or makes your flesh crawl, it makes you feel shocked or disgusted.

    e.g. I hated this man, his very touch made my skin crawl.
           我讨厌这个男人，他碰我一下我都觉得恶心。
